The Dustin & Dave Show
Uh-huh Baby Yeah! - “Trash Talk - EP” (Little Heart Records)
Review by David McNeill (@fluxdavidflow)
Whoever said rock and roll was dead has obviously never heard of Jeffersonville, Indiana’s very own Uh-huh Baby Yeah! “Trash Talk” is best described as, hard, fast, kind of aggressive, and full of rock.
The opening track, ‘Dances With Wolves” starts with the sounds of a lively party that then enters immediately into the classic rock and roll sounds you’ll hear the rest of the album: distorted guitar riffs, random screams and sudden dance rock breaks.
But you can’t forget the nearly perfected clean vocals of lead singer Kevin Fletcher. Those are fully displayed the entire EP with his entire range showcased to it’s fullest with the closing song “Ocean Of You”, which in ways could be compared to classic Jimmy Eat World song or 2, but with completely it’s own feel.
The EP’s second track, “Whores Will Be Whores”, showcases where most rock bands now a days are doing it wrong. It’s very well crafted. Good dark lyrics, great music, well placed “fuck”s, a few nasty grungy well placed screams, a great guitar solo, oh and it’s about someone being a total whore. Who doesn’t love a song like that?
Track 3, “Dead Friends”, is the perfect zombie apocalypse song. “All my friends are dead” = zombies. At least, I think so….but anyways, this track is a poppy-er rock song, still showcasing the bands amazing ability to play their music perfectly.
It’s very hard to place these guys into one genre as they’ve perfected at least 3 different genres on this EP. I will say, if you’re in to old school, straight up, dirty rock and roll, this is the perfect album for you. Uh-huh Baby Yeah! completely proved rock and roll never needed saving, it was perfectly alive in Southern Indiana.

Cassadee Pope has signed to Universal Republic Records Nashville.
Below is the official press release via Universal Republic:
Republic Nashville proudly announces today the addition of Cassadee Pope to its roster. The young singer-songwriter emerged while competing on NBC’s “The Voice” and winning the Season 3 title last December.
Chosen for Team Blake (Shelton), Pope excelled throughout the competition, displaying diverse musical tastes and talents, covering songs like Keith Urban’s “Stupid Boy,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Behind These Hazel Eyes” and Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn.” After a performance of “Over You” – honoring her mentor and his wife, Miranda Lambert – the tune catapulted to the #1 spot on the iTunes All Genre Chart.
“I am so excited to be joining the very talented Republic Nashville family. I am so passionate about my music and I couldn’t be more excited to have this amazing team to back me as I embark on this next chapter in my career,” said Pope. “Cassadee was a standout from day one and once she delivered her incredible version of Miranda Lambert’s “Over You,” I started working over my NY label partner Monte Lipman (CEO of Republic Records) to try to convince him that Cassadee belonged in Nashville,” said Big Machine Label Group President Scott Borchetta. “Each week Cassadee continued to knock down big Country songs by Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Faith Hill, and after she won we were THRILLED to find out that Cassadee was on the same page with us and wanted to come to Nashville. The BMLG Team is over the top excited about Cassadee Pope!”
Republic Nashville President/BMLG EVP Jimmy Harnen added, “Cassadee simply has it all! Phenomenal singer, incredible stage presence, an endearing and charming personality…she’s a star! Everyone at Republic Nashville and the Big Machine Label Group is simply over the top about welcoming her to the family!”
Pope’s best-of album, THE VOICE: THE COMPLETE SEASON 3 COLLECTION, catapulted into the #1 spot on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart less than a week after her victory. She has also made national television appearances on TODAY, Live! With Kelly & Michael and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, among others.
Additional updates will follow in the coming weeks. You can learn more via twitter.com/CassadeePope. Watch her journey on “The Voice,” Season 3 here.
Pope is managed by Irving Azoff and Tina Kennedy.
